Virtual Phonebanking with the Coordinated Campaign

Virtual Phonebanking with the Coordinated Campaign

by Conner Jure, Regional Organizing Director with the Florida Democratic Party

I keep hearing about the Coordinated Campaign. What is it?

The Coordinated Campaign is, in some ways, the Biden Campaign. But Coordinated Campaigns work with other candidates and groups to make sure we talk about – and elect – Democrats up and down the ticket. Here in Pinellas, we have an awesome relationship with the county party (Pinellas Democratic Party chair Barbara Scott, is, quite literally, one of my favorite people ever) and we have many series of events and calls with other candidates up and down the ticket to truly make this a coordinated effort.

How can we HELP the Coordinated Campaign?

The Organizing Department of the Coordinated Campaign has set up “Virtual Phonebank Hubs” (VPHs) throughout the state. You can think of these VPHs as virtual offices – folks who will greet you as soon as you sign on, train you on voter contact, troubleshoot any issues or hard-pressing questions from voters, and – my favorite part – the opportunity to meet and hang out with really inspiring and incredibly hardworking organizers. We have training shifts available daily at 12p, 3p, and 6p, and a 9a shift available on Saturdays. We have four VPHs across Pinellas, and they are broken down by state house district.

We are looking to schedule people out throughout the rest of the election – which is only 17 days – so when you open these sign-up links, have your calendar available! We are also looking for volunteer leaders – tech savvy folks to help run trainings and support our VPHs with misc tasks as they arise.
